Values in African Thought Program

Thank you for finding the time to visit the "Values in African Thought" section of our website. The inspiration for our "Values in African Thought" Program came from The Dalai Lama Foundation's Project Happiness, produced and led by Randy Taran, the ground-breaking work and excellent example on Values Education at the Mount Madonna School Values Program by Ward Mailliard, and His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama's Book, Ethics for the New Millennium.

Through the "Values in African Thought" Program, our students engage one another and members of their communities in thoughtful dialogue about the concepts and values that lead to a meaningful and fulfilling human life. The program opens doors to possibilities that were previously unimaginable for our students, as it presents students with opportunities to interact, listen and learn from elected officials, traditional wisdom carriers, celebrated intellectuals and leading lights in Nigeria and beyond. Through this process, the students gain an understanding of reality and life, which enables them better respond to daily challenges and events of their existence. The Program fosters understanding, capacities and relationships needed by young people committed to stepping forward and creating the change they want to see in the world.
